Cookie Policy
What is a cookie?
What is a cookie? A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer when you visit a website. It stores information that the site can read when you visit it again later. Some cookies are needed for the site to work properly; others are useful to visitors because they can securely remember things such as your username or language settings. The advantage of having cookies on your computer is that you no longer need to fill in the same information every time you return to a site you have visited before.
According to the Italian Data Protection Authority's ruling on simplified arrangements for information and consent regarding the use of cookies – 8 May 2014 – (published in the Official Gazette no. 126 of 3 June 2014), cookies fall into two main categories.
a. Technical cookies.
Technical cookies are those used solely to “carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Italian Privacy Code).
They are not used for any other purpose and are normally set directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into browsing or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the website (for example, allowing you to make a purchase or log in to restricted areas); analytics cookies, treated as technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect aggregate information on the number of users and how they visit the site; and functionality cookies, which let users browse according to selected criteria (for example, language or products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
b. Profiling cookies.
Profiling cookies are designed to build a profile of the user and are used to send advertising in line with the preferences shown while browsing. Because these tools can be particularly intrusive into users' private lives, European and Italian law requires that users be properly informed about their use and give valid consent.
Why does our site use cookies?
It uses cookies to give its customers the best possible booking experience. Cookies mean you do not have to receive or enter the same information on every visit. Cookies are also used to optimise the website's performance: they make both the final booking process and the quick search for specific items on the site easier. To protect your personal data from loss and from any form of unlawful processing, we have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures.
How long cookies last
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until you close the browser or use the logout command. Other cookies “survive” the closing of the browser and are still available on later visits.
These are called persistent cookies, and their lifetime is set by the server when they are created. In some cases an expiry date is set; in others the duration is unlimited.
However, while browsing this site you may interact with sites run by third parties that can create or modify persistent and profiling cookies.
Managing cookies
You can choose whether or not to accept cookies using the settings of your browser.
Please note: disabling technical cookies fully or partly may prevent you from using the site features reserved for registered users. Public content, on the other hand, remains available even with cookies completely disabled.
Disabling “third-party” cookies does not affect browsing in any way.
Settings can be defined separately for different websites and web applications. In addition, with the best browser you can set different rules for “first-party” and “third-party” cookies.
For example, in Firefox, through the menu Tools->Options->Privacy, you can open a control panel where you can choose whether to accept the different types of cookies and remove them.

Third-party cookies
When you visit a website you may receive cookies both from the site itself (“first-party”) and from sites run by other organisations (“third-party”). A notable example is “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the page generated directly by those sites and embedded in the host page. The most common use of social plugin is to share content on social networks.
The presence of these plugin means cookies are sent to and from all the third-party sites. Information collected by “third parties” is governed by their own privacy policies, which you should refer to. For greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of these policies and of the cookie management pages are listed below.

Google Analytics
The site also includes some components delivered by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). These too are third-party cookies, collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyse, anonymously, information on how the website is used (including the user's IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to produce reports on activity on the websites. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google's analytics tool to track or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google, nor does it try to link an IP address to a user's identity. Google may pass this information on to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.
